Friends of the Bradley
The Friends of the Bradley is a 501c3 organization that enriches, enhances and supports programming and opportunities at the Bradley School. Your donations are used to provide students with arts programming, academic acceleration services, and support the overall health and wellness of our 300 students. Below are just a few of the opportunities made possible by your generous support!
Boston University
Summer Reading Tutoring
Thirty-three Bradley students were provided with a scholarship to participate in weekly dynamic classroom instruction where highly trained teachers instilled a love of reading and helped develop the skillsets necessary to develop confident and engaged students. In addition to the class time, students participated in nearly an hour of assigned reading and an hour of online skills practice each week. Our students also had access to on-demand one-on-one sessions with instructors to support and reinforce skillsets. As a result those who attended showed improved outcomes on their Fall NWEA MAP reading assessments.
Harvest Mural Project
These creations of art began with our partnership with Eastie Farm and Harbor Arts. Our students are learning to grow and care for plants, investigate where food comes from in our community, learn about food waste management, pollination, biodiversity, and the importance of food accessibility. Together with professional artists, our students expressed their ideas creatively to inspire a new series of large-scale murals at the school that you have to see to believe!
These youth-led murals will inspire and empower future generations to take action and care for our planet and all of its inhabitants.
